Saturday evening, I went out with some friends. We first met in the Student Village at Murdoch and then went to Northbridge in Perth to go out. We decided to go to the Paramount Club because everyone said, that this is a very good place to be.
The topic of the conversation
Before we went in everybody had to show their passport. We could all get in except one guy. The problem was, that he had to show them two ID’s. Unfortunately he just brought his passport, and after a long discussion with the doorman he could not get in.
What I learned
I learned that it is better to bring more than just own passport, but I really didn’t understand why they wanted to see two. Maybe it had something to do that he was from America and not from Australia or they just needed a reason that he could not get in. ?
Reflection
Things are obviously different here in Australia. When I first wanted to go out here in Australia, I was dressed “wrong”. I just worn sneakers and a hoodie. It is not a problem to get into a club in Germany with those clothes. I think you just have to know that some things, like dress codes for example
could be different in other countries.
