Qantas to cut 1,750 jobs as profits dive

I read this article last week in a newspaper in a restaurant. (The Australian) I just tried to find an article about the same topic on the internet to have a reference. This is quite shocking to read that Qantas, Australias biggest airline has to cut so many jobs. All in all they have to cut 1750 jobs. There you can see that almost every company is affected by the global financial crisis. Another reason is that the market is very tough. Cheap airlines like Jet Star entered the market and this means a lot of competition for Qantas.
